The need for infrastructure managers

Our association with the Indian School of Business (ISB) came about as the result of a need gap within the construction industry. Apart from top quality engineers, the challenge to create world-class infrastructure requires skilled managers at the top most level. However, no course existed in India that could impart specific training for infrastructure management, critical for the country’s development.

Developing a partnership

By partnering with ISB we were able to address the gap by developing a centre providing a business management course in infrastructure. We have invested in the creation of a brand new institute at ISB’s Mohali Campus - the Punj Lloyd Institute of Physical Infrastructure Management, which we hope will become a critical nucleus for forging new managerial talent in this field.

Construction of the institute was completed in 2012 and we are now working closely with ISB faculty and industry specialists to finalise the curriculum. An academic association has also been established with the MIT Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts.

Investment in human capital is critical for any industry and we are grateful to ISB for its partnership in developing the area of infrastructure management.
