Dayawanti Punj Training Institute

Great teaching inspires great learning. However, after establishing the Dayawanti Punj Model School in Sitamarhi, we identified a dearth of qualified teachers within the local area due to a lack of local training opportunities and migration of potential young teachers to larger towns and cities.

To combat this and create a sustainable ecosystem of learning, teaching and training within the area, we established Dayawanti Punj Training Institute - a B.Ed Centre in the village, operating alongside the school.

Affiliated to the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith College in Varanasi, the centre is officially recognised by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh.

100 students are taken on each year from across the country, with quality facilities for boarding and accommodation provided. The faculty appointed with the approval of the state level University Council Committee and paid salaries in accordance with the UGC Sixth Pay Commission.

All trainees have the option to learn English as part of their studies. Those who achieve a high level of fluency, as well as high academic achievement, have the opportunity to become the next generation of teachers at the Dayawanti Punj Model School. Our other graduates go on to secure teaching positions at schools across the country.
