Design is a critical part of our operations. Without great design it is impossible to create outstanding physical infrastructure. For India this is an acute problem; lack of quality design and planning has led to substandard infrastructure and poor construction across many of our fast-growing cities. Add to this a lack of dialogue around public design and India faces a problem not only within this industry, but for everyone involved in nation building for the 21st century.

It is an issue we care about deeply and we are keen to support public dialogue and action in this area. Because of this we have consolidated our efforts by becoming a major supporter of a new platform for design, the India Design Forum.

About the India Design Forum (IDF)

The IDF is an annual design platform that combines a two-day seminar with a week-long public design festival in its host city. The first edition was held in Delhi in March 2012 and included workshops, exhibitions, screenings and talks from international thought leaders including architects, artists, academics and designers across all disciplines and the second edition was took place in Mumbai in March 2013.

The forum aims to enable strategic alliances, encourage dialogue between academia and industry, and facilitate cross cultural design thinking and application.
