Sembawang E&C undertook the design and construction of a new service pier that linked to the existing finger pier structure via a new access ramp. The pier extension was designed to significantly reduce on-site construction works through the use of prefabricated elements.
Eliminating the use of temporary marine formwork, the extension features prefabricated steel jackets, steel trusses, and a pilecap designed as a composite structure with precast soffit plank elements seated on prestressed precast beams that span over the tower legs.
